Dog Coats, Collars, and Harnesses
The 3 Most Important Measurements
A – Neck Circumference
- Measure where the collar normally sits. Put the measuring tape loosely (leave two fingers' width of space).
B – Back Length
- From the base of the neck (withers) to the base of the tail. The dog must be standing straight.
C – Chest Circumference
- Measure slightly behind the front legs.
- Optional (some coats require this measurement as well).
D – Belly Circumference
- Widest point of the chest, directly in front of the back legs.
E – Front Leg
- Distance Between the front legs (for the chest panel).
Tips 👍 Always measure while the dog is standing.
Don't pull the measuring tape too tight.
Gently press down the fur, especially on long-haired dogs.
It's best to double-check the measurements.
